Sstc was started with the idea of letting the delegates know and feel the different and new procedures. But not to actually perform them. After conducting and interacting over the time, we feel that the need has changed. Delegates want to even start performing the procedure for which pre and post management becomes essential. E. g. Lasik/Phaco/phakic Iol. Delegates want to understand from the selection and counselling to management of compilations. Hence a permanent programme in a Hospital setup called sstc360 is started.
Over a period of two days, all the aspects of the procedure chosen by you will be discussed/demonstrated. Each course will begin with a didactic presentation/discussion, followed by a live surgery(if possible) by a stalwart in the field. Then you will be provided a hands on training on a model/animal eye, with a dedicated trainer in attendance. A delegate can choose as many numbers of courses as desired. We will customise the flow so as s/he is able to attend maximum courses Exciting - Saturday Evening Gala Dance and Dinner night with the entire team of organisers, Faculties.
Some investigative topics will also be included like Perimetry, OCT, IOL power calculation, Pentacam etc. and we might also increase or decrease the no. of courses depending on your feedbacks. It might even be possible to arrange for extended training periods, with procedures possible on patients also ( subject to prior requests and confirmation ) so that you can actually perform the surgery under expert supervision and guidance and have an opportunity to see the post operative outcome as well. All trainees shall be given a completion certificate, signed by the respective instructor(s). So start registering and make the best use of one to one surgical teaching from stalwarts, an event which has never happened before in the history of Indian Ophthalmology.
